Step 1

Download and run FO3
Open vortex, add FO3 to managed games, fix both the problems
In vortex settings, go to workarounds, find the section about archive invalidation and tick BSA redirection
create a new profile (optional but recommended)
Add the collection above, I didn’t install all optionals, I have everything except Geck Extender, High Resolution screens & High Resolution water fog
Install and enable nvac from above, ignore it says new vegas, it works for FO3
I also have a “HD” pack but don’t notice much difference so probably not worth it, Maximum pack single file & the update under Update files
I also have a “HD” audio pack, makes gun fire less annoying to me, other than that don’t notice much difference

Step 2

go to your FO3 install dir and run the patcher.exe
Download BethINI from above and extract it to some random location
open bethini and pick fallout 3
ignore the prompt about a update, we can’t use bethini pie for fo3 so it’s a dead update notice
Under presets, Press ultra, then tick recommended tweaks, under detail i’ve disabled depth of field and set Field of view to 91.31
Optional: under custom, controls, fForegroundMouseAccelBase, fForegroundMouseAccelTop, fForegroundMouseBase, fForegroundMouseMulti, i have them all set to 0.0
press the X up top when you are done and accept all the save changes
